An elderly couple had been dating for a while and decided it was time to get married.
As they stood before the justice of the peace, about to say their vows, the justice asked if they had any last requests or anything to add before being pronounced husband and wife.
The bride turned to the groom and said,
“I do have one request—I want to be buried next to you when the time comes.”
The groom thought for a moment and replied,
“I’m sorry, my love, but I’d rather be buried in the cemetery across the street.”
Surprised, the bride asked,
“Why on earth would you want to be buried across the street?”
