An elderly couple was celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

After the cocktail party that entertained guests late into the night,

the husband and wife finally retired to their room.

The husband, overwhelmed by the events of the day, turned to his wife of 50 years and, with a voice choked with emotion, said,

“Martha, I am proud of you!”

Martha, who was a little hard of hearing, replied,

“Well, I’m also tired of you!”
